Coach Eric Driscoll

Coach Eric Driscoll

Coach Driscoll is entering his third season as the Head Boys and Girls Cross Country Coach at Copley High School, after three successful years leading the Copley-Fairlawn Middle School XC program. He also serves as the Assistant Track & Field Coach, focusing on distance. In 2024, he led the Boys Track team to a Suburban League Championship.

He previously directed the CAA Youth XC program and works full-time as a Senior Test Automation Engineer. He holds a Master’s in Computer Info Systems (Boston University) and a BS from The University of Akron. A lifelong runner, he’s completed five marathons and is certified by USATF. Eric's daughter Brynn joins the team as a freshman in 2025.

Coach Laurel Labbe

Coach Laurel Labbe

Now in her third year with Copley Cross Country, Coach Labbe was a varsity runner at Roxbury High School in NJ and helped lead her team to an undefeated season. She holds degrees from Duke and UMass and has completed ten half marathons.

Outside of coaching, Coach Labbe teaches in the Woodridge Local School District and is their Choir Director. Laurel has had 3 children come through our Copley High School Cross Country program.

Coach Sharon Rodriguez

Coach Sharon Rodriguez

Coach Rodriguez is in her second year with the high school staff after leading the middle school team and co-founding the Copley Youth Running Program. A Tallmadge HS alum and University of Akron graduate, she has run a marathon and many other races.

Sharon teaches PE at Copley's Arrowhead Elementary and previously worked in preschool education. Sharon's son Antonio is a sophomore on both XC and Track teams.

Coach Christina Malpass

Coach Christina Malpass

Coach Malpass, a third-year assistant, was part of Lima Shawnee’s 1983 state-champion XC team and competed at Ohio University in XC / Track as a scholarship athlete. Christina was also an assistant for a year at the Middle School prior to joining the High School staff. She’s completed numerous full and ultra-marathons since college.

Her son Brayden competes on both the XC and Track teams. She brings extensive competitive experience and love for the sport to the program.
