Copley Boys Compete Strong at Pat Ritchie Invitational

The Copley Boys Cross Country team delivered a solid showing at the Pat Ritchie Invitational on September 6, 2025. Facing a competitive Division I/II field, the varsity squad placed 6th out of 15 teams, highlighted by Brayden Malpass’s impressive 9th-place finish in 16:16, earning him a Top-20 overall spot in the D1/D2 race.

Copley’s varsity scoring pack stayed close together behind Malpass, with Al Ali (17:16), Griffin Morrison (17:32), Owen Frazee (17:39), and Ian Schlarb (18:11) rounding out the scoring five. Zack Dodson (18:22) and Antonio Rodriguez (18:32) provided valuable depth to the lineup as well.

In the Open Boys race, Copley showcased its depth with an outstanding 2nd-place team finish out of 16 teams. The team had three runners place in the Top 20, demonstrating the strength and consistency throughout the roster.

Overall, it was a strong day of racing for the Copley Boys—showing solid pack running, continued progress, and momentum heading into the mid-season meets.

Copley Girls Battle Hard at Pat Ritchie Invitational

The Copley Girls Cross Country team put together a determined effort at the Pat Ritchie Invitational on September 6, 2025, finishing 8th out of 14 teams in the Division I/II race — despite missing a couple of varsity runners.

Leading the way once again was Kaylee Ingratta, who turned in a phenomenal performance, placing 2nd overall with a time of 18:50, continuing her stellar start to the season. Ava Capper (21:27), Claire Ingersoll (22:14), Anna Eby (22:29), and Anna Allbaugh (23:09) rounded out the scoring for Copley, with Leah Habel (23:09) and Lily Church (23:19) providing strong depth just behind.

The team also saw solid efforts from two Open race competitors, contributing to a day full of PRs and season-best performances across the lineup. The girls continue to build momentum as the season progresses, showing great resilience and teamwork even with a few key absences.
